Harvest 2019 (Fruit Picking)

We are now taking applications for Harvest 2019 - Please be aware that this work will not begin until August/September 2019.
Harvest:
Apple and Pear harvesting by hand, working either as part of a team or individually, in our orchards across Kent.
Previous experience not necessary but it is advantageous.
Basic level of English required. 

 

 

Sprayer Operator

Pay range £10 - £11.33

We are looking for a qualified sprayer operator to join our team!
Working on our large fruit farm in West Kent, near Maidstone. Applicants must be motivated, enthusiastic, and have an eye for detail.
Job Type: Full Time.
Essential qualifications for this role :  

  • PA1, PA2, PA3.

  • Clean valid driving licence.

  • Forklift truck certification - would be advantageous.

Personality Profile:

  • Comfortable working both as part of a team and individually.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Uses initiative.

  • Organised.

Warehouse Team Member

Pay starting at £9.12

Dispatch picking and forklift driving.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working directly for the Warehouse Manger the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following, as applicable to the role, but not exclusive duties:

  • Pick orders as per picking list and to customer specification.

  • Pallet splitting, preparation and strapping.

  • Heavy lifting may be involved.

  • Stock checks.

  • Forklift truck duties including loading and unloading.

  • Location of pallets and crates.

  • Transportation of raw materials. 

  • Accurate completion of paperwork.

Applicant Requirements

Previous experience in a similar position within fresh produce industry with a proven track record.

Appropriate qualifications and licences.

 

 

Production Line Leader - 4 positions available

Pay range £8.21 - £10.20

Duties and Responsibilities

Working directly for the Production Manager the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following, as applicable to the role, but not exclusive duties:

  • Oversee the running of the production line and the production team.

  • Manufacture and pack products on the production line as necessary.

  • Lead, motivate and develop the production team to ensure planned output requirements/quality standards are met.

  • Work alongside the Head of Production to ensure that targets e.g. for line efficiency, quality and wastage are met.

  • Contribute to the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.

  • Work as part of a team on the production line as required.

  • Undertake any other tasks reasonably requested by the Production Manager.

Skills / Experience

  • Experience of working on a food production line would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Practical understanding of production machinery would be beneficial with a willingness to learn.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Enthusiastic, self-confident and self-motivated.

  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Able to use initiative and be pro-active.

  • Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and drive to continually improve.

  • Team player.

  • Warehouse pick & pack operations.

  • Stocktaking and bar-coding operations.

Quality Controller

Pay range £8.80 - £10.50

Duties and Responsibilities

Working directly for the Technical Manager the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following , as applicable to the role, but not exclusively:

  • Continuously monitor product quality at all stages of intake, packing, grading, storing, shelf life and dispatch process.

  • Accurately complete all relevant paperwork, save and e-mail as appropriate.

  • Ensure product traceability is being maintained.

  • Complete and report intake / PIA / shelf life / pre-size / on-line / re-inspection and positive release product assessments.

  • Ensure pack-house procedures relating to quality are adhered to.

  • Be aware of customer product and packaging specifications and ensure that product is being packed according food quality, safety and legal requirements.

  • Be aware of the requirements of the food safety and quality management system and health and safety policies.

  • Carry out PSI / Brix assessments and ensure QA equipment is intact and accounted for.

  • Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Lead QA /QC.

Machine Operator - 3 positions available

Pay range £8.21 - £9.18

Duties and Responsibilities

Working directly for the Production Manager the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following, as applicable to the role, but not exclusive duties:

  • Set up and control production cycle machinery .

  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.

  • Carry out necessary tests and fix problems that arise during production cycle.

  • Undertake any other tasks reasonably requested by the Production Manager.

Skills / Experience

  • Experience of working with high-speed machinery.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Able to use initiative and be pro-active.

  • Willing to adapt and take on new challenges and drive to continually improve.

  • Team player.
